For Resize Image, pNG output can retain canvas alpha. For Resize Image, webP or AVIF alpha depends on browser decoding and encoding support; re-encoding is not a guarantee that every source feature is retained.
For Resize Image, no quality control is applied; resize and crop pages encode their result as PNG.
For Resize Image, browser image paths draw decoded pixels to canvas and encode a new file. For Resize Image, the code does not copy EXIF, GPS, IPTC, XMP, original filenames, animation frames, or other source metadata into the canvas output.
For Resize Image, success depends on the current browser being able to decode the selected source format and encode the requested canvas MIME type. For Resize Image, unsupported AVIF or WebP codecs can cause loading or output-type failure.
Resize Image enforced limits: The operation requires non-zero integer width and height values; The page declares 1–8000 pixels, but the JavaScript operation does not separately clamp values to that range The browser paths declare no application-level byte limit. For Resize Image, browser memory, maximum canvas dimensions, and device resources can still prevent large images from completing.
For Resize Image, the selected file is read and re-encoded in the browser; this page code does not upload it to the application server.
Resize Image sample input: One 400 × 300 browser-decodable image; width = 200; height = 150. Resize Image expected result: The expected download is a 200 × 150 PNG. To verify Resize Image, reproduce its worked example and compare the displayed or downloaded downloadable image with the stated expected result. When Resize Image returns a file, open the download and inspect every affected page or image.
